Campaña de Inmigración de la organización NMCIR con gran éxito en New York

New York- La directora ejecutiva de la Coalición del Norte de Manhattan por los Derechos de los Inmigrantes (NMCIR), abogada Ángela Fernández destaco el éxito de la campaña de Inmigración de su organización en colaboración con Hispanic Federation y Telemundo

“Buenas noticias. Nuestra campaña de elegibilidad migratoria, que se llevó a cabo el 6 y 7 de junio en colaboración con Hispanic Federation y Telemundo, fue un gran éxito. En total, nuestro equipo pudo ofrecer información sobre recursos de inmigración a 214 visitantes. Adicionalmente, nuestros abogados condujeron consultas directas y extensas con 130 clientes, el 74% de los cuales califican para un beneficio migratorio”.

“Pero los números no lo dicen todo-por lo cual queremos compartir con ustedes la historia de una de nuestras clientes: Ana se encontraba en una relación de abuso por parte de su esposo. Ella quería desesperadamente dejar a su abusador, pero siempre temió que el dejarlo significaría perder la oportunidad de obtener un estatus migratorio legal. Ana se sentía perdida hasta que llegó a nuestra Campaña de Inmigración, donde pudo recibir ayuda legal gratuita, profesional y confidencial, y comenzó el camino a la seguridad y alivio migratorio” dijo Ángela Fernández. «Antes, no tenía esperanza,» «pero ahora tengo esperanza de que mi estatus puede cambiar”, dijo Ana

Last Week’s Victory: Our Immigration Drive

Great news! Our Immigration Eligibility Drive, which we held on June 6th and June 7th in partnership with the Hispanic Federation and Telemundo, was a fantastic success. In total, our team was able to offer 214 visitors access to immigration-related resources. Additionally, our attorneys were able to conduct direct and comprehensive screenings with over 130 clients, 74% of whom qualified for an immigration benefit.

But numbers can only say so much–which is why we would rather share with you the story of one of our clients: Ana. Ana is in an abusive relationship with her spouse. She desperately wants to leave her abuser, but she has always feared that leaving him would mean losing her chance at obtaining lawful immigration status. Ana felt lost until she came to the Immigration Eligibility Drive, where she was able to receive free, professional and confidential legal help, and to begin on a path to safety and immigration relief. «Before, I had no hope,» says Ana, «but now, I am hopeful that my status can change.»
